Here are a few of my favourite things… travel essentials, beauty products that I always pack and things that I can’t live without when I’m away from home.
I’ve also included a few of my favourite accommodations. Unique stays that I love and hope you will too!

Hotel Sultania is conveniently located in the heart of Sultanahmet. The T1 tram, Hagia Sophia, and the Blue Mosque are all less than a 10-minute walk away. And the rooms are beautiful. The decor will make you feel like you are a guest at Topkapi Palace; some rooms even have their own hammam. And their Turkish breakfast is vast and absolutely wonderful!
Located in the delightful town of Thornbury, Ontario, Penny’s Motel is not at all what you’d expect from a roadside motel. It feels cozy with beachy decor and a totally laid-back vibe. You almost don’t want to leave the property, which is surrounded by ski hills, beaches, hiking trails and charming villages. There’s an Apres Snack Bar, fire pits to roast smores, bocce ball courts and even bikes to borrow.
The French Renaissance-style Lafayette Hotel is located in downtown Buffalo, New York. It was designed by Louise Blanchard Bethune, the first female architect in the United States. The historic hotel’s lobby retains some of its faded beauty, but the rooms have been thoughtfully renovated with modern-day luxuries.
Favourite Travel Site – Booking.com
I love staying in unique places. And Booking.com helps me discover and book almost all of my accommodations. They offer tons of options all over the world, from big-brand hotels to smaller boutique hotels and, guest houses, even apartments. Most places have a free cancellation in case your plans change.
Use the map to find your perfect location and choose your preferences, from the number of beds to whether you want breakfast included. And I always read the reviews before making my final decision.
Booking.com isn’t just for hotels; they also offer deals on flights and rental cars. Check them out when you are planning your next trip!
Vessi Alta Boots
I am heading to Norway in February with dreams of seeing the Northern Lights. And I plan to stay dry and cozy with my new Vessi Alta High Tops. Stay tuned because I think these waterproof cuties are going to become my new favourite.
Elta MD Sunscreen
It doesn’t matter the season or weather; I always wear sunscreen. Elta MD Tinted Sunscreen is definitely a favourite.
Pricey, yes, but it plays nice under makeup, and if your skin tone is close to mine (medium-warm), it looks good on its own for a no-make-up day.
If you are looking for a cheaper option, try Hawaiian Tropic Weightless Mineral Sunscreen Lotion. It has the brand’s “tropical scent” and a slight tint, so it blends into the skin nicely.
Heritage Store Rosewater & Glycerin
Rose water is a new discovery and has become the first step in my skincare routine. I enjoy the mild, rosy scent of Heritage Store’s Rosewater and Glycerin and love that rose water’s superpower is helping make all of your other skincare work better.

Electric Travel Kettle
This Electric Travel Kettle is my most used travel purchase! If you are a travelling tea-lover, you need this! It’s also a unique gift for the travellers in your life.
This travel kettle is not only dual-voltage, it’s collapsable and barely takes up any space in my suitcase. Which means I can indulge in my favourite teas anywhere in the world.
While many hotels have coffee makers, I am never sure how often they’re cleaned, and they add a coffee aftertaste to my tea. When you are jetlagged and up in the middle of the night, this cute little kettle offers warmth and comfort to a weary traveller.
Nylon Pouches – Travel/Purse Organizers
I like to be organized. And I am prone to over-packing. All of those fancy, functional cases take up space and add needless weight to your luggage. Over the years, I’ve done a ton of experimenting, from disposal plastic baggies to toiletry bags. But these Nylon Pouches are the best!
I’ve used them in my purse for travel documents and cosmetics. And in my luggage to keep track of travel receipts, medicines and electronic cables and chargers. Each set comes in two sizes. They’re lightweight, versatile and see-through. And now I spend more time enjoying my vacation instead of looking for things!
This Pill Organizer is my travelling pharmacy. You could also use it for a week’s worth of supplements as it has seven compartments. I keep the medications that I might need while I’m away, like allergy pills or pain medication. I can travel with things that I know work. So, there’s no need to scramble to figure things out when I’m not at my best in another country.
Murdle Puzzle book
Sometimes, you need a little escape, even when you are in a dreamy location. And Murdle is a fun and engaging read. You become the detective and solve simple to super-challenging logic puzzles. A fun way to pass time while giving your brain cells a workout.
I especially love these while taking planes and trains as I find the puzzles totally distracting and help pass the time.
