Pretty and purple with a fragrance that makes you feel immediately zen, visiting one of Ontario’s lovely lavender fields is the perfect way to spend a day in July. Here are three of my absolute favourites.
Discover three of Ontario’s loveliest lavender fields.

Discover Three of Ontario’s Loveliest Lavender Fields
Laveanne
Two hours from downtown Toronto, Laveanne’s Lavender Field is in Northumberland County, one of Ontario’s most picturesque areas.
Simply show up and buy your tickets at the front gate. You’ll smell the lovely fragrance from the parking lot as you gaze out over the rows of tiny purple flowers. You can also take a tranquil stroll through their beautiful meditation labyrinth.
Enjoy a lemon lavender shortbread on their shaded terrace. Or bring your own food and have a picnic in their pretty purple field. While the lavender field is only open in July, their small boutique sells lavender-based beauty and bath products year-round.

You can also take home some lavender for your own garden. Their nursery (open in July) sells lavender plants hardy enough to survive the local winters.

Laveanne
- Address: 8667 Gilmour Road, Campbellcroft, Ontario
- Open: 11 am – 4 pm (July)

What Else is in the Area?
Consider a stop at Doo Doo’s for their award-winning butter tarts. Their cute country bakeshop is 10 minutes away in Bailieboro.
And don’t miss Port Hope! It is one of Ontario’s MOST charming small towns and is only half an hour south of Laveanne.
Bonnieheath Estate Lavender & Winery
I’m not going to lie; when I visited Bonnieheath Estates Lavender & Winery, I fell in love. This might be my favourite lavender field in Ontario. In part because of the beautiful setting, with many picture-perfect photo spots. But also because of their charming boutique, where you can find a lovely assortment of lavender-based products, bottles of their estate wine and some yummy local hard ciders.
Check out their website, which showcases an array of experiences, from picnics to yoga to summer markets with local artisans. And while I haven’t stayed there, they offer two charming accommodations that just scream Girls Getaway!

Bonnieheath Estate Lavender & Winery

What else is in the area?
Can’t get enough Lavender? Head over to Apple Hill Lavender (details below), which is just 7km away. Or take a 15-minute drive down to Port Dover, a fun, beachy little town right on Lake Erie.
Apple Hill Lavender
Apple Hill’s Lavender Field has been a family farm since 1906, located in Norfolk County, Ontario. The lavender field is slightly hilly, with a rust barn and photo spots featuring red Muskoka chairs. You are sure to snap some great photos. Then, decide if you want to have a picnic under the apple trees or indulge in a little retail therapy in their photogenic Carriage House Boutique, where you can load up on lovely lavender-based products.
